Exclusive to the Helweg Custom Pedalboards design is the option of an easy-to-open bottom cover. This will protect your power supply and cables from dirt and accidents without having to leave your sweet looking pedalboard in the bottom of a case.
Constructed with reinforced 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood and covered to match your board design, our newly redesigned bottom covers feature nickel hinges and are fastened by extra-strength magnets and ball clasps. This, combined with riveted leather pull-tabs, makes access to the inside fast and easy. Get the Bottom Cover. Amaze your friends. (Or spend the rest of your life wondering what if...) |

The best way to complete your custom board is with a matching Case Cover. Combine this with the Bottom Cover for a unique case system that's great looking and easy to use.
The 1/2-inch Baltic Birch ply construction gives heavy-duty protection. The Pull-off Cover has inner supports that hold the board in place and add extra strength to the base and handle. Our standard hardware includes a Fender-style handle, four riveted leather Strap-Locks, and nickel stud feet. For those of us looking for the best in both looks and functionality. |
- Cases are just 1 1/4" larger than the pedalboards' footprint.
- Case Covers come standard with 3" clearance in the back (crowd side) and about 5" in the front (player side). This is plenty of room to clear the height of most pedals. Custom case thicknesses are not a problem if more inner clearance is needed or if you'd like it slimmed down as much as possible. Just let us know the height of the tallest pedal in the back row. Adding thickness may incur additional material cost - slimming down is always available at no cost.
- Case Covers have nickel stud feet similar to most guitar cases. Rubber feet can be substituted at no additional cost upon request.
- A common question we get is whether it's possible to order a pedalboard and bottom cover now, and order a matching Case Cover at a later date. The answer is yes, we can do that. However, it's important to be aware that we must have the board on hand to ensure a perfect glove-like fit, and with many orders, to line up stripes or other patterns.
So you're looking at added shipping expenses down the road when ordering a board and case separately; shipping the board back to us, and getting it back to you in its new case. It's a good idea to keep your board's original shipping box
if you plan to do this as it can be difficult to find these box sizes locally.
It's also worth mentioning that tolex and tweed vary a bit in color and sheen from roll to roll. We've also seen some very cool tolex types discontinued. Because of this, the only way we can ensure a perfect match is to build the board and case in one shot.
